Who’s Behind the Refined Sound?

 
Fine chocolate, luxury vehicles and French perfume…what do these products have in common? They’re all sophisticated, often enjoyed by people with stylish tastes and savvy lifestyles.

 
Now imagine hearing the voice describing those products in commercials. You may find yourself sitting up straight as your drive in your car or being pulled in as you relax in front of the TV. The deep, soothing voice convinces you that those chocolates are indeed made with fragrant, roasted hazelnuts and the best dark Indonesian cocoa.

 
The commercial ends and you’re tuning into a biography of the late Princess Diana, a woman who wooed the world with her regal demeanor and altruistic heart. As you hear the princess’s story unfold, you find the narrator’s professional and proper sound to serve as the ideal voice to describe this classy figure of history.

 
You may now stop imagining this voice and start listening to the real thing. And that real voice is what I like to dub “the refined sound.” As you’ve probably guessed by now, my sound is rich and deep, sexy and savvy and most importantly, REAL. You can’t sell a product or tell a story, if the voice doesn’t sound authentic enough to draw your audience in. My refined sound is not forced, it’s natural and by all means, believable.

 
My voiceover work started as early as my college days, when I served as the co-MC for a regional Special Olympics competition. Since then, I’ve served as the narrator for various educational videos, the voice behind a band’s biographical DVD and the sound behind a wedding promotion DVD.
